IN THE WOODS... A 16 años su significativo regreso junto a PURE, el álbum mas esperado del año.

Para que justificar lo injustificable, para que desmentir lo indesmentible... IN THE WOODS... a retornado en gloria y majestad después de algunos años en silencio, junto a nuevos integrantes la banda noruega conecto con un sello francés Debemur Morti, para editar Heart Of The Ages a modo de compilación que reúne piezas de refina manufactura acuñadas en la trayectoria anterior de la banda. Mas ahora, y recientemente lanzo el álbum mas esperado del año... PURE. 

¿Qué significa volver a revivir a In The Woods...? 

Bueno, sentí que era el momento adecuado debido a muchos factores. Antes, cuando nos separamos, estuvimos de acuerdo en que reviviría In the Woods ... siempre y cuando sea el momento adecuado. Así que aquí estamos hoy. Una gran cantidad de personas que aún estaban mostrando una gran dedicación a la banda y esto con la muerte de Oddvar haber ayudado a desencadenar el renacimiento de la banda.

What is the meaning of reviving In the Woods ...?

Well, I felt it was the right time because of many factors. Back in the days, when we split up, we agreed that we would revive In the Woods… if and when the time is right. So here we are today. A lot of people were still showing great dedication to the band and this with Oddvar’s death have helped to trigger the renaissance of the band.

¿Fué difícil encontrar nuevo cantante? 

Fue bastante fácil. Conocíamos a James y él vino con nosotros. Estamos muy contentos que lo hiciera!

Was it difficult to find a new singer?

It was pretty easy. We knew James and he came to us. We are very happy he did!

¿Háblame de su mas reciente obra? 

Pure es un álbum que habla de la vida y la muerte en las teorías científicas y filosóficas. Incluso si suena más accesible en comparación con Omnio o Strange in Stereo, que sigue teniendo las vibras de In The Woods… 100%. Lo hicimos con un montón de diversión y estamos orgullosos de presentar nuestro trabajo a las personas que siempre han creído en nuestra música después de 16 años. Pure representa el comienzo de una época, pero, sigue siendo la continuación de donde In the Woods… dejaron. Hemos perdido a algunos miembros a lo largo del camino, pero nuestra alma para la música que hacemos sigue siendo el mismo.

Tell me about your most recent work?
Pure is an album which speaks of Life and Death in scientific and philosophical views. Even if it sounds more accessible compared to Omnio or Strange in Stereo, it still a 100% In the Woods…’s vibes. We did it with a lot of fun and we are proud to present our work to the people who have always believed in our music after 16 years. Pure marks the beginning of an era but, remains the continuation of where In the Woods… left. We lost some members along the way but our soul for the music we make is still the same.

¿Qué experiencia es volver a los shows?. ¿Que esperanzas tiene América del Sur?. 

Retornar de gira con In The Woods..., en el contexto presente, es un privilegio. Nos queríamos divertir, y fue muy divertida la gira este verano; ¡fue grandioso! Estar en el escenario y ver metaleros duros llorando con nuestra música es una gran satisfacción (no es que nos gusta ver a la gente llorando ... lol) estamos felices y conformes por las reacciones de la gente.

Hasta el momento, los planes de gira en América del Sur son vagos, pero estoy bastante seguro de que va a ponerse en forma en un futuro próximo. Por lo tanto, estad atentos!

How do you feel being back on the shows? Any hopes to see you in South America?

Going back on tour with In the Woods…, in nowadays context, is a privilege. We want to have fun and did have fun on tour this summer; it was great! Being on stage and seeing hardcore Metalheads crying on our music is a great satisfaction (not that we like to see people crying…lol) and we are always happy and touched by people’s reactions. 

So far, the plans to tour in South America are vague but I am pretty sure it will shape up in the near future. So, stay tune!

Háblame acerca del nuevo line up. ¿Existen nuevas composiciones con esta nueva formación?. 

Tenemos James Fogarty como nuestro nuevo cantante que también está ayudando con la composición de canciones. Sumado a esto, tenemos Kåre "Corey" Sletterberg en las guitarras y de empleo "Phenex" Bos (de The Ruins of Beverast y Dark Fortress) en teclados que se unan a nosotros para el escenario en vivo. Los gemelos y yo estamos de acuerdo en que no pudimos encontrar nada mejor para hacerlo soñar como lo hace.

Hasta ahora, hemos estado tocando canciones de los viejos álbumes (especialmente los que la forma del Heart of the Ages) y algunas canciones del nuevo disco como "Rise Blue Oceans (Like a War)" y "Towards the Black Surreal". Parece que el público respondió positivamente a las nuevas pistas.

Tell me about the new line up. Are there new compositions with this new formation?

We have James Fogarty as our new singer who is also helping with the songwriting. Added to this, we have Kåre “Corey” Sletterberg on guitars and Job "Phenex" Bos (from The Ruins of Beverast and Dark Fortress) on Keyboards joining us for the live stage. The twins and I agree that we couldn’t find any better to make it sound as it does.

So far, we have been playing tracks from the old albums (especially those form Heart of the Ages) and some tracks from the new album such as “Blue Oceans Rise (Like a War)” and “Towards the Black Surreal”. It seems that the audience responded positively to the new tracks.

¿Y que novedades tienen para este año? Háblame acerca de su sonido actual. 

Bueno, después de una intensa gira de verano, ahora vamos a tomarlo con calma hasta el próximo año. Tenemos una cita en Madrid en diciembre, pero eso es todo por este año.

En cuanto a nuestro nuevo sonido, diría que todavía estamos en el bosque ... y, aunque el nuevo disco suena más accesible que los de antes, que todavía sea creativo y complejo. Algunas pistas son más oscuras que otras, o más duro que otros, pero In The Woods... siempre ha trabajado de esta manera.

And what are the news for this year? Tell me about your current sound. 

Well, after an intense summer touring, we are now going to take it slowly until next year. We have a date in Madrid in December, but that is about it for this year.

Regarding our new sound, I would say that we are still In the Woods… and, even if the new album sounds more accessible than the older ones, it still be creative and complex. Some tracks are darker than other, or harsher than others, but, In the Woods… have always worked that way.

¿Que discografica los esta apoyando en este momento... Estan disponible los trabajos anteriores por encargo?.

Actualmente estamos en el sello musical francés Debemur-Morti Productions. También tienen bandas como Manes, Blut Aus Nord y Behexen. Para nosotros, en este momento, es mejor ser la banda más grande en un sello más pequeño que en el medio de un sello grande, es como lo veo.

What record label are you with at the moment? Is your earlier work available on request?

We are currently on the French label Debemur-Morti Productions. They also have bands such as Manes, Blut Aus Nord and Behexen. For us, at the moment, it is better to be the biggest band on a smaller label than in the middle on a major label, as I see things.
